Understanding Data Sources – Automatic Brand Monitoring vs. Manual Setup

Updated today

To make your Listening module a valuable source of information, it is important to understand where the data comes from and how Adhook processes it.

  • Automatic Brand Monitoring: Adhook automatically detects mentions of your linked brands on supported channels. This data flows into the feed without any additional configuration.

  • Manual Setup (Monitoring Queries): For anything beyond your own brand (competitors, industry trends, news), you must specify specific sources:

    • Instagram Profiles: Adhook monitors posts from profiles you add via their username.

    • Hashtags & Keywords: Here you define the "search terms" that Adhook regularly searches for across social networks and news portals.

  • Regular Polling: Adhook retrieves this data at fixed intervals. After the initial setup, it may take a moment for the first results to be visualized in the feed.

  • Timeframe Control: Use the date filter in the top right to define the period for which collected data should be displayed (e.g., "Last 30 days").
